Describing things 

1. use zhè 这 this and nà 那 that 

2. use the measure words 

3. use adjectives: (1) in front of the noun: big gǒu 大狗 big dog

                              (2) after the noun: gǒu hěn dà 狗很大（shì 是 is not needed）

Example:  这是狗很大。 

                                 kě ài 

                  这只猫很可爱。 

                                  xiōng 

                  那个人很凶。
